Litigation Legal Assistant | Active Consulting Services LLC
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Active Consulting Services LLC, located in Roseland, NJ. This position supports attorneys within the firm’s litigation practice. The role is crucial for ensuring the efficient management of complex commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution. You will play a key part in supporting a collaborative team within the firm.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Perform daily administrative and litigation support tasks including file organization, data management, and calendaring.
• Prepare, revise, proofread, and finalize various legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and correspondence.
• Coordinate and maintain attorney calendars for court appearances, depositions, meetings, and filing deadlines.
• Electronically file legal documents in state and federal courts, including NJ E-Courts, NYSCEF, and PACER.
• Assist attorneys with discovery management, document productions, exhibit preparation, and trial readiness.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Mid-level professional with a minimum of 4+ years of experience as a legal assistant supporting litigation attorneys in a law firm environment.
• Experience: 4+ years of experience supporting litigation attorneys, with familiarity in state and federal court filing procedures and litigation deadlines. Experience supporting commercial litigation matters is preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Bonus: Experience with document management systems such as NetDocuments or SurePoint, and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
