What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Production: Meticulously prepare, proofread, and format a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence, ensuring adherence to firm standards and court rules.
• Schedule Management: Proactively manage and maintain complex schedules and calendars for attorneys, coordinating meetings, deadlines, and court appearances to optimize practice group efficiency.
• Case File Organization: Systematically organize and maintain comprehensive case files, both physical and within the firm’s legal database, ensuring easy access, accuracy, and compliance with retention policies.
• Client Communication: Professionally handle all inbound and outbound client communications, serving as a primary point of contact while strictly maintaining confidentiality and fostering positive relationships.
• Legal Support & Coordination: Provide robust assistance with all aspects of case preparation, including drafting and filing legal documents, and expertly coordinate communication and logistics with court personnel, clients, and opposing counsel.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A mid-level legal professional with a strong track record of job stability and a comprehensive understanding of litigation processes and legal support functions.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience specifically serving as a litigation legal assistant within a law firm environment.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency with legal technology and firm databases, excellent organizational capabilities for managing complex legal documentation, and superior professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
