Litigation Legal Assistant | Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers

This role is crucial for providing high-level clerical support, which enables attorneys to maintain organized cases, meet deadlines, and ensure clients are well-informed, contributing directly to the firm’s success and client service excellence.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Management: Organize and manage case files by monitoring calendars, tracking deadlines, and documenting actions in databases.
• Case Development: Support case development by scheduling depositions, preparing legal documents, managing discovery requests, and generating status reports.
• Client Communication: Maintain client relationships by providing regular updates on case progress and keeping them informed.
• File Organization: Establish and maintain comprehensive case and correspondence files, ensuring all information is organized.
• Firm Contribution: Proactively contribute to organizational objectives by addressing new requests and identifying opportunities for added value.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma required, with a basic understanding of office equipment and clerical procedures.
• Experience: At least one year of experience in a legal office setting.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong organizational and prioritization skills, a detail-oriented approach to tasks, and dependability with respect to confidentiality.
• Bonus: An Associate’s degree is preferred, along with two years of legal office experience.
