Litigation Legal Assistant | Warner Norcross + Judd

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Warner Norcross + Judd, located in Detroit, MI. Warner Norcross + Judd is a full-service corporate law firm with 230+ attorneys operating across nine offices in Michigan. This role provides essential administrative and client support, ensuring the efficient management of legal processes and delivering exceptional client service within the firm’s litigation practice. The Legal Assistant contributes directly to the operational efficiency and client satisfaction of the legal team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Management: Prepare, format, proofread, and manage a variety of legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and client materials, ensuring accuracy and firm compliance.
• File Organization: Maintain electronic client and matter files, including document management, records organization, matter opening, and file conversions.
• Court Coordination: Coordinate court filings, docket management, and interactions with federal, state, and local courts and agencies while tracking deadlines.
• Administrative Support: Manage attorney calendars, travel arrangements, meetings, expenses, and project timelines to support efficient practice operations.
• Billing Assistance: Review and process time entries, billing information, and client billing memos, ensuring accuracy and adherence to firm billing procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Basic understanding of legal terminology and a dedication to delivering exceptional client service.
• Experience: 3+ years of equivalent training and experience. Experience supporting multiple attorneys/timekeepers in a legal environment required.
• Skills: Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, excellent communication and time management skills, strong problem-solving abilities, technical proficiency, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
• Bonus: Experience with litigation procedures and e-filing requirements in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb County courts strongly preferred. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
