Litigation Legal Assistant | Offit Kurman
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Offit Kurman, located in New York City. Offit Kurman, an Am Law 200 firm, is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to bolster its growing Litigation practice. This role is critical for providing comprehensive administrative support to a team of attorneys, ensuring efficient management of legal documents, court filings, and demanding schedules while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and client service.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Management: Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize diverse legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery materials, correspondence, and court filings.
• Court Filings: Manage electronic filings through NYSCEF, CM/ECF, and other court systems, ensuring strict compliance with applicable rules, procedures, and deadlines.
• Case Organization: Maintain and organize electronic and physical client files, pleadings, exhibits, and all other case-related materials.
• Calendar & Coordination: Monitor case deadlines and proactively manage attorney calendars to ensure timely filings, court appearances, depositions, and client commitments, while also coordinating hearings and meetings.
• Administrative Support: Support new client and matter intake processes, prepare and process expense reports and invoices, and communicate professionally with all stakeholders.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Prior legal administrative experience required, specifically within a law firm or professional services environment, with a focus on litigation.
• Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of legal administrative experience; demonstrated experience with NYSCEF, CM/ECF, and other electronic court filing systems.
• Skills: Strong document production skills including advanced formatting, proofreading, and editing; exceptional organizational and time-management skills; excellent written and verbal communication; and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal technology platforms.
• Bonus: Experience supporting complex commercial litigation matters is a plus.
