The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Husch Blackwell, available remotely or in any of our locations. Husch Blackwell is a full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple locations across the United States, serving clients with domestic and international operations. This role is crucial for monitoring assigned mailboxes and accurately docketing litigation deadlines into the firm’s software according to established guidelines. The Litigation Docket Specialist plays a vital part in supporting the firm’s legal teams, ensuring compliance, and contributing to efficient client service by maintaining precise docketing records.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Monitor: Independently monitor assigned shared mailboxes and related docket requests, ensuring all deadlines are identified and comprehended from submitted documents.
• Docket: Accurately docket all identified deadlines into the firm’s litigation docketing software, strictly adhering to firm guidelines and procedures for designated assignment groups.
• Verify: Review court and/or agency dockets, verify jurisdiction, court/venue, and relevant authorities, and ensure the accuracy of docketed items, generated deadlines, and assigned timekeepers.
• Report: Create, review, and distribute precise matter reports to relevant stakeholders for effective communication and oversight.
• Research: Research statutory, agency, court, and individual judges’ rules and practices, applying them appropriately while remaining current with developments in designated assignment groups.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a 2-year degree or Paralegal Certificate, or a combination of education and commensurate work experience, with a strong knowledge of litigation processes, court rules, and procedures.
• Experience: 3-5 years of litigation docketing experience, including calculating and calendaring deadlines in various federal and state courts.
• Skills: Proficient knowledge of federal, state, and local court systems and administrative agencies; ability to research and apply statutory/agency and court rules for any jurisdiction; adept at using Pacer.gov, PacerPro, and other legal resources; proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, and advanced Excel functions for data manipulation.
• Bonus: Specific experience using CompuLaw Vision is preferred, as is a 4-year degree in a related field.
