Litigation Docket Coordinator | Fenwick & West

The Tone:

This role is essential for managing critical legal deadlines across Litigation, Corporate, and Administrative departments, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency. • Team: Reports to the Senior Risk Management Manager
• Mission: To perform calendaring and docket functions and assist with the maintenance of the docket database.
• Tech Stack: Automated docketing/calendaring programs, docket software, Word, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Review court, agency, and client documents to calculate and enter relevant deadlines into the docket database.
• Respond to attorney and staff inquiries regarding docket entries and maintain rule sets within the docket software.
• Monitor electronic court filings to ensure timely updates.
• Provide ongoing training to staff and attorneys on docket policies, procedures, and rule changes.
• Assist with the maintenance of the docket database for Litigation, Corporate, and Administrative departments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. Knowledge of federal and state court structures, procedures, and filing requirements.
• Experience: 2+ years of calendaring experience in a law firm or law department, including experience with automated docketing/calendaring programs.
• Skills: Good verbal and written communications skills, detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, good computer skills including Word and Excel.
• Bonus: Curiosity and openness to learning, experimenting with, and growing alongside AI tools and new technologies.
