Litigation Docket Clerk | Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP

The Tone:
This is a Litigation Docket Clerk position at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, available in a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule across multiple US cities. This role is an integral part of the firm’s team, directly supporting the litigation practice firmwide by managing critical deadlines and court information.

• Mission: Ensure accurate and timely calendaring of litigation deadlines and court procedures for lawyers and staff.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain the firm’s docket system for litigation lawyers practicing in multiple courts and jurisdictions.
• Obtain filing information directly from court clerks and online dockets.
• Identify pertinent deadlines and prepare a master calendar of due dates for distribution to lawyers and staff.
• Research questions from attorneys, paralegals, and secretaries regarding deadlines, calculations of deadlines, and local rules.
• Respond to requests concerning calendared events, pleadings, court procedures, and modifications to compliance dates on the docket calendar.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent, with a strong understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures and familiarity with court filings and general rules of court at federal, state, and county levels.
• Experience: At least one year of relevant litigation calendaring/docketing experience is desired, preferably acquired in a large law firm setting.
• Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong proofreading skills, exceptional attention to detail, the ability to prioritize and balance competing demands while meeting deadlines, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree is preferred, and experience with CompuLaw or comparable docketing software is a plus.
