Litigation Docket Clerk | Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP

The Tone:
This is a Litigation Docket Clerk position at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, located in Boston, Century City, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Orange County, Philadelphia, Seattle, San Francisco, Silicon Valley (Palo Alto) or Washington D.C., with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. This role serves as an integral part of the team, supporting the litigation practice firmwide by maintaining critical docket information and ensuring lawyers and staff have accurate deadline and court procedure details.

• Mission: Owns the accurate maintenance of the firm’s litigation docket system to ensure lawyers and staff meet all court deadlines.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain: Maintains the firm’s docket system for litigation lawyers practicing in multiple courts and jurisdictions.
• Obtain: Obtains filing information from court clerks and online dockets.
• Prepare: Identifies pertinent deadlines and prepares a master calendar of due dates for distribution to lawyers and staff.
• Research: Researches questions from attorneys, paralegals, or secretaries regarding deadlines, calculations of deadlines, and local rules.
• Respond: Responds to requests concerning calendared events, pleadings, court procedures, and modifications to compliance dates on the docket calendar.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent. Understanding of court docketing and calendaring procedures and familiarity with court filings and general rules of court at the federal, state, and county level.
• Experience: At least one year of relevant litigation calendaring/docketing experience.
• Skills: Excellent written and oral communication, strong proofreading, exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize and balance competing demands, proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree preferred, experience with CompuLaw or comparable docketing software.
