This role is critical for managing civil litigation cases from inception through trial, directly contributing to the firm’s client success and legal operations. • Mission: This person will manage civil litigation cases, ensuring effective legal representation and case progression for the firm’s clients from inception through trial.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Drafting: Prepare essential legal documents, including motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and professional correspondence.
• Case Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of civil litigation cases, from their initial stages through to trial.
• Discovery Execution: Execute comprehensive discovery processes, which includes taking and defending depositions.
• Client Representation: Manage cases for clients involved in business and commercial litigation, employment defense, and corporate/partnership disputes.
• Legal Strategy: Contribute to the development and execution of case strategies, particularly in areas requiring strong law and motion experience.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must hold a Juris Doctor degree and be licensed with the California State Bar. This role requires foundational expertise in civil litigation, with exposure to business, commercial, and employment defense law.
• Experience: At least 2 years of civil litigation experience, with a preference for prior experience taking and defending depositions.
• Skills: Proven ability in legal drafting, comprehensive case management, effective discovery management, and clear professional communication.
• Bonus: Strong law and motion experience is a significant advantage for this role.
