The Tone:
This is a full-time role at a boutique law firm, located in Orange County, CA. The firm, established over 25 years ago, provides specialized legal services in business and commercial litigation, employment defense, and corporate/partnership disputes across Southern California. This role is critical for managing civil litigation cases from inception through trial, directly contributing to the firm’s client success and legal operations. The position offers a hybrid work schedule and reasonable billable requirements, fostering a supportive environment while encouraging in-office collaboration for younger attorneys.

• Mission: This person will manage civil litigation cases, ensuring effective legal representation and case progression for the firm’s clients from inception through trial.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Drafting: Prepare essential legal documents, including motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and professional correspondence.
• Case Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of civil litigation cases, from their initial stages through to trial.
• Discovery Execution: Execute comprehensive discovery processes, which includes taking and defending depositions.
• Client Representation: Manage cases for clients involved in business and commercial litigation, employment defense, and corporate/partnership disputes.
• Legal Strategy: Contribute to the development and execution of case strategies, particularly in areas requiring strong law and motion experience.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must hold a Juris Doctor degree and be licensed with the California State Bar. This role requires foundational expertise in civil litigation, with exposure to business, commercial, and employment defense law.
• Experience: At least 2 years of civil litigation experience, with a preference for prior experience taking and defending depositions.
• Skills: Proven ability in legal drafting, comprehensive case management, effective discovery management, and clear professional communication.
• Bonus: Strong law and motion experience is a significant advantage for this role.
