What You’ll Do
As a Litigation Attorney, you will play a pivotal role in advocating for clients and guiding them through the legal process. Your responsibilities will include:
• Comprehensive Case Management: Take ownership of personal injury cases from the initial client intake through to a successful verdict or settlement, meticulously overseeing every detail of the litigation lifecycle.
• Leading Litigation Processes: Skillfully lead and execute all phases of litigation, including drafting compelling pleadings, conducting and defending critical depositions, preparing and arguing substantive motions, and confidently representing clients through trials.
• Alternative Dispute Resolution: Actively participate in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods such as mediation and arbitration, always maintaining a state of trial readiness to ensure optimal client outcomes.
• Upholding Legal Standards: Ensure unwavering compliance with all aspects of civil procedure, rules of evidence, and the highest standards of professional conduct, preserving the integrity of legal practice.
• Strategic Travel: Travel as needed for essential hearings, depositions, and trial appearances, primarily within the local and regional courts, to effectively represent clients.
What You Bring
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of legal acumen, practical experience, and a genuine passion for plaintiff’s advocacy:
• Active Utah Bar License: Must hold a current and active license to practice law in the state of Utah.
• Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience in civil litigation, with a strong preference for backgrounds in personal injury or medical malpractice cases.
• Exceptional Legal Skills: Proven strength in legal writing, adept negotiation tactics, and powerful advocacy skills that translate into favorable results for clients.
• Courtroom & Deposition Experience: Solid experience in conducting depositions and participating in courtroom proceedings, showcasing your ability to effectively present and argue cases.
• Legal Research Proficiency: High proficiency in utilizing legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support robust case strategies.
