What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Management: Manage new client matter accounts, including conflict checks, intakes, retainer letters, and file opening, while also organizing and maintaining electronic and paper client files.
• Document Production: Draft complex correspondence and legal documents such as court forms and pleadings, anticipating attorney needs for these materials.
• Administrative Support: Relieve attorneys of various administrative tasks, including coordinating and scheduling phone calls in a professional manner and managing heavy client communication.
• Information Processing: Perform word processing for a variety of correspondence, reports, memoranda, and legal documents based on transcriptions, drafts, or oral instructions, and accurately enter attorneys’ time.
• Urgent Response: Respond to attorney and client needs with a sense of urgency, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate follow-up, while maintaining confidentiality of all information.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Mid-Career professional with core domain knowledge in litigation support and legal administrative duties.
• Experience: 5+ years of litigation experience as a legal assistant; demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, and follow complex instructions in a legal setting.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong attention to detail; excellent verbal communication skills; excellent written communication skills.
