What You’ll Actually Do
• Administrative Services: Perform daily administrative duties, including scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics.
• Process Improvement: Implement and refine administrative processes to enhance workflow efficiency within the firm.
• Document & Evidence Management: Collect, examine, organize, and maintain all evidence and legal documents, including pleadings, discovery indexes, exhibits, briefs, and appendices, for attorney review.
• Legal Document Drafting: Draft and meticulously proofread various legal documents and correspondence, such as pleadings and contracts.
• Client & Billing Coordination: Communicate with clients and witnesses for scheduling meetings, interviews, and depositions, and manage client billing by preparing, finalizing, and resolving issues in cooperation with attorneys.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. High school diploma or GED required, with core domain knowledge in legal support or administrative assistance.
• Experience: At least 2 years as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal; preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Skills: Strong written and communication abilities; proficiency in calendaring depositions, mediation, and hearings; applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, and court procedures; highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage workload with minimal supervision; extensive computer and database expertise including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with a typing speed of at least 35 wpm.
• Bonus: An Associate’s degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a Bachelor’s degree; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish; or experience in Personal Injury, Workers’ Compensation, Premises liability, or other injury-related practice areas.
