Job Description And Duties
This position is specifically for Coalinga State Hospital. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), you will play a crucial role in providing fundamental nursing care under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse or Senior Psychiatric Technician.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing a basic level of general fundamental nursing care to patients.
- Facilitating the adherence of patients to their prescribed treatment programs through your attitude, knowledge, and performance.

DSH-Coalinga is a specialized forensic psychiatric hospital that commenced operations in 2005. The facility is dedicated to treating forensically committed patients, primarily sexually violent predators. It is designed as a self-contained psychiatric hospital, featuring a robust security perimeter.
Collaboration with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) is integral to the facility’s operations. CDCR is responsible for providing perimeter security and managing the transportation of patients for outside medical services and court proceedings.
