Legal Support Assistant | Woods | Aitken

• Team: Supports several attorneys within a construction litigation practice.
• Mission: Manages both case management and administrative aspects of the practice to ensure efficient operations and exceptional client service.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), document management systems, calendaring tools, Copilot (or other AI productivity tools), legal practice management systems, time/billing systems.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Management: Draft, proofread, revise, and format legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and memoranda, and manage electronic filing in state and federal courts.
• Calendar Coordination: Maintain attorney and firm calendars, ensuring all court deadlines, meetings, arbitrations, and firm events are accurately scheduled and tracked.
• Office Support: Serve as the initial point of contact for clients and visitors, provide professional front desk support, manage incoming calls, and coordinate meetings and firm events.
• Litigation Assistance: Support attorneys with essential trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, and preparing hearing notebooks and necessary documents.
• Administrative Operations: Facilitate administrative functions such as time entry, billing coordination, expense reporting, and travel arrangements to ensure smooth practice operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent required, with a preference for legal assistant or administrative support experience. Candidates should have knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and e-filing systems.
• Experience: Prior legal experience and/or certification are encouraged. Experience with legal practice management and time/billing systems is preferred.
• Skills: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), document management systems, and calendaring tools. Excellent customer service, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skills are essential.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Copilot or other AI productivity tools.
