Legal Research Processor | Fremont Bank

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Fremont Bank, located in the Bay Area, CA (likely Livermore, CA). • Mission: Manages legal process workflows, levy administration, and operational reporting activities to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Processes Legal Orders: Processes levies, summons, subpoenas, and other legal process orders received from various government agencies and courts.
• Manages Levy Payments: Manages the levy payment calendar and levy account reporting tasks to ensure timely and accurate delivery of all levy payments.
• Handles Legal Mail: Processes all incoming and outgoing mail, both physical and electronic, ensuring compliance with legal and operational deadlines.
• Communicates with Agencies: Engages in direct communication with levying officers and government agencies as needed to effectuate levies and follow up on their status.
• Responds to Inquiries: Researches legal inquiries from internal departments, branches, and Branch Administration, providing appropriate guidance and responses.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An individual with a Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of training and related experience, prepared for an early career role supporting legal and regulatory functions within a financial institution.
• Experience: A minimum of 4 years of banking experience, including experience negotiating contracts, is required.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills, detail-orientation, and analytical abilities; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word; and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to follow instructions and processes.
• Bonus: Knowledge of legal processing, including levies, summons, and subpoenas, is preferred.
