What You’ll Actually Do
• Processing: Efficiently and accurately process content removal requests submitted to YouTube, addressing a variety of complex issues including privacy concerns, defamation claims, explicit court orders, and formal requests from law enforcement or government agencies.
• Support: Respond to inquiries from both internal Google teams and external customers, providing clear and comprehensive information regarding YouTube’s legal removal processes and policy interpretations.
• Improvement: Work collaboratively within a team setting to identify opportunities for enhancement, develop new strategies, and implement improvements for existing processes, ultimately boosting operational quality and scalability across the legal operations function.
• Development: Assist in creating and refining internal training materials and external educational resources, while also participating in the design of new workflows that are strategically aligned with the business’s evolving directions and goals.
• Review: Undertake the critical task of reviewing graphic, controversial, and sometimes offensive video content to ensure compliance with YouTube’s policies and legal obligations, contributing to a safer online environment.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a Bachelor’s degree or demonstrate equivalent practical experience in relevant fields. This includes foundational knowledge and experience within content moderation, the legal domain, policy development, operations management, or closely related areas.
• Experience: Practical experience in content moderation, law, policy, operations, or related fields. Candidates should also have a strong understanding of internet technologies and their associated policy and regulatory environments, demonstrating an ability to apply this knowledge in practical scenarios.
• Skills: Exhibit excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, crucial for navigating complex legal and policy issues. Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, especially within an environment that is constantly changing and requires adaptability.
• Bonus: Experience specifically within content moderation beyond minimum requirements, practical experience in support operations, and proficiency in utilizing data management tools such as SQL and spreadsheets.
