Job Description:

Legal Intern – Fall Semester

The Legal Department of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) is offering a paid internship opportunity for 1-2 law students during the Fall 2025 semester. This role provides an excellent chance to gain hands-on experience in the Legal Department’s diverse work areas, particularly focusing on alternative dispute resolution (ADR), privacy, and AI governance.

Key Details:
Target Candidates: Current 1L, 2L, or 3L students enrolled at an accredited law school.
Semester: Fall 2025.
Work Schedule: Approximately 5–10 hours per week, with a flexible schedule designed to accommodate the intern’s availability.
Compensation: This is a paid internship, offering $25 per hour.
Location: Flexible, with options for remote work or in-person presence in New York City (NYC), depending on the intern’s preference and availability.

Internship Responsibilities:
Interns will be involved in a variety of legal tasks, including:
• Conducting legal research and preparing written materials on topics pertinent to ADR, privacy law, and AI governance, among other relevant areas.
• Assisting with internal legal analyses and the drafting of memoranda.
• Attending specific committee meetings and accurately preparing meeting notes.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Be a current 1L, 2L, or 3L student attending an accredited law school.
• Possess a demonstrated interest in alternative dispute resolution, privacy law, and/or AI governance.
• Exhibit strong research, writing, and analytical skills, which are crucial for the role’s responsibilities.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
