The U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform (ILR) aims to reduce excessive frivolous litigation while restoring fairness and balance to the nation’s civil justice system. They achieve this through legislative, judicial, and educational activities at the national, local, and international levels.

Job Description:

Position: Legal Intern at the U.S. Chamber Institute for Legal Reform (ILR)

Duration: Monday, September 15 – Friday, November 21, 2025

Schedule: Part-time, up to 20 hours per week, hybrid schedule (at least two days a week in the office). Fully remote applicants will not be considered.

Location: U.S. Chamber of Commerce headquarters in downtown Washington, D.C.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Conduct specific issue-related research.
• Write analytical memos.
• Participate in ILR member task force calls, meetings, and other important events.
• Attend/watch and report on congressional hearings and events.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and pursuing a Juris Doctorate.
• Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a changing environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and follow-up skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook.
