Job Description: Cisco Legal Experience Acceleration Program (LEAP)

Cisco’s LEAP is an 11-week summer internship program for first-year (1L) law students during the academic year 2024/2025. This is a paid internship. The program aims to provide practical, in-house legal experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on a variety of significant legal issues for Cisco, contributing to its mission of building inclusive technologies.
• Gain broad exposure to various legal practice areas while supporting internal clients.
• Contribute to projects that enable the development and sale of Cisco’s networking, security, and collaboration products and services.
• Obtain hands-on, in-house legal experience to prepare for a complex legal environment.
• Benefit from exposure to a department recognized as a leader in legal practice evolution.
• Receive mentorship and coaching to gain a strong understanding of the client perspective.
• Conduct research and present an end-of-summer project to Cisco Legal’s Senior Leadership Team.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Must be a first-year law student (1L) for the 2024/2025 academic year with a strong interest in an in-house legal career.
• Must have completed no more than two semesters of law school at an accredited institution.
• Must be available for the internship program from May 19 – August 1, 2025.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of application without visa sponsorship.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and excellent organizational and communication skills are required.

Post-Internship Opportunities:

High-performing interns may be invited back for a second summer internship after their 2L year and could be considered for a 2-year rotation program following law school graduation.
