Job Description
This is an internship opportunity within Touro University’s Office of the General Counsel, facilitated through Lensa.
• Job Title/Type: Legal/Compliance Intern (Per Diem)
• Location: The primary location listed is US-NY-New York. However, interns will be assigned work with one of the legal/compliance offices located at Touro University (New York), New York Medical College, Touro University California, or Touro University Nevada. Applicants must have the ability to work remotely or participate in-person at a relevant Touro location.
• Overview: The internship’s primary objective is to contribute to the intern’s education by providing hands-on experience in the University’s legal department. Interns will work closely with the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, Associate General Counsels, other senior administrators, organizational allies, outside counsel, and even congressional and USDOE staff. The program aims to expose interns to a broad range of legal practice areas.
• Responsibilities: Interns will be engaged in the legal department’s practice, spanning various areas including:
• Real estate (construction, procurement, transactions)
• Affiliations
• Litigation
• Policy formulation and enforcement
• Compliance
• Corporate law
• Regulatory matters
• Ad hoc initiatives assigned by the President and other Touro Senior Executives.
Intern job assignments are closely monitored to ensure comprehensive exposure to the legal practice, and efforts are made to accommodate the intern’s desired practice areas.
• Qualifications:
• Applicants must currently be a student at an accredited law school program.
• Applicants must have the ability to work remotely or participate in-person at a relevant Touro location.

• Minimum Salary: USD $0.00/Hr.
• Maximum Salary: USD $16.50/Hr.
• Interns may be eligible to receive compensation through the Federal Work-Study program. Applicants may also be eligible for a commuting reimbursement. Touro University makes no representations or guarantees regarding work-study funding.
• Travel stipends may be available to students who do not receive compensation or academic credit for the internship.
• Academic Credit: Interns may be eligible to receive academic credit for their time spent in the Office of the General Counsel.
