Job Description:

This internship position, reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer and supporting Real Time’s legal team, focuses on regulatory compliance and research within the receivables management industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Research & Monitoring: Routinely conduct regulatory research, writing, and document review. Continually monitor, compare, and track state-to-state as well as Federal regulations through Westlaw. Report any and all regulatory changes found through ACA International (formerly American Collectors Association) as well as Receivables Management Association International (RMAI).
Compliance Duties: Conduct compliance duties, including but not limited to, reviewing and extracting data from various online resources and databases.
Memorandum Preparation: Prepare memoranda for the compliance and legal team based on changes found in regulations.
Borrower Inquiry Response: Responsible for responding to borrower inquiries and disputes, as well as internal research requests, and will work closely with all company departments to achieve maximum results.
Data Input: Report and input results of research into Real Time’s servicing system.
Strategic Support: Additional business focus on achieving strategic and operational objectives.
Project Assistance: Assisting with outside projects as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Must be enrolled in 12+ hours of undergraduate coursework, or 6+ hours of graduate coursework
• Current enrollment in a Law – Juris Doctorate program with 3.0 GPA or higher required
• Should enjoy speaking to people and performing computer-based research.
• Technical and analytical skills are required for making decisions and piecing together information.
• Good attitude, team player, willing to learn all aspects of loan servicing industries.

Work Environment:

• Hybrid setting: Splits time between a professional office environment (call center) and a remote home office.
• Requires standard office equipment including keyboard, mouse, and telephone.
Office: Typical call center setting with background noise and team interactions.
Remote: Requires a dedicated and quiet workspace, reliable internet connection, and secure access to company systems.

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged periods of sitting and reviewing information on a computer screen.
• Repetitive motions of hands and wrists related to typing.
Voice Clarity: Regular use of a clear and professional speaking voice for effective communication.
• Occasional lifting of office supplies up to 20 pounds.
