Legal Assistant (Tacoma, WA) | Clyde & Co

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Clyde & Co, located in Tacoma, WA. This role is crucial for providing essential secretarial and administrative support to the trial and litigation team, ensuring attorneys can focus on delivering excellent client service in a paperless environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Support: Provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to a team of attorneys.
• Document Management: Create, prepare, proofread, and amend high-volume, complex legal documents, pleadings, letters, and emails, including tables of contents and authorities.
• Court Filings & Calendaring: File pleadings with state and federal courts using various electronic filing systems and maintain attorney calendars by scheduling hearings, briefing schedules, discovery deadlines, and depositions while adhering to court rules.
• Trial & Case Assistance: Prepare for and assist in trials, and support Paralegals in organizing case files and maintaining records.
• Administrative & Financial: Assist with travel arrangements, complete attorney monthly expenses for accounting, and handle administrative tasks such as billing, correspondence, invoices, and client reporting.

The Must-Haves
• Background: 5 years of previous experience as a litigation/trial legal assistant or secretary, with proven legal experience.
• Experience: Must have experience filing with state and federal courts, knowledge in e-filing, and previous experience with File site or iManage filing systems.
• Skills: Strong work ethic, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to think ahead, follow instructions, and demonstrate strong writing, researching, and teamwork abilities; intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; exceptional attention to detail and high proficiency in proofreading; creative problem-solver who takes initiative with minimal supervision; ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
