Legal Assistant/Paralegal – Civil Litigation – Waco | Naman Howell Smith & Lee, PLLC

The TL;DR

• Mission: Assist attorneys in managing a high-volume civil litigation caseload and ensure all legal support tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Tech Stack: MS Office suite, Firm’s document management system

What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Management: Oversee overall case volume and maintain high-volume documents within the firm’s document management system.
• Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, courts, experts, and counsel regarding case matters.
• Drafting & Updates: Prepare correspondence and pleadings, and provide regular communication and case updates to clients.
• Coordination: Manage scheduling and calendaring, make travel arrangements, and submit expense reimbursements.
• Litigation Support: Participate in the preparation of discovery responses, summarize deposition transcripts, analyze medical records, prepare documents for production, organize files for hearings and trials, and e-file in state and federal courts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Experience assisting attorneys with civil litigation matters from pre-suit investigations through trial and appeal.
• Experience: 3+ years of relevant civil litigation work experience, with strong proficiency in MS Office suite.
• Skills: Highly organized self-starter with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time-management abilities, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bonus: Bilingual in English/Spanish.
