Legal Assistant | Weitz & Luxenberg PC

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Weitz & Luxenberg, located in Cherry Hill, NJ. Weitz & Luxenberg is a nationally prominent plaintiff’s law firm, headquartered in New York City and recognized for its leadership in asbestos litigation. This role is crucial for supporting attorneys with case organization, client communication, and administrative tasks, ensuring efficient legal operations within the firm’s Cherry Hill office.

• Mission: This role supports attorneys by managing case information, client communications, and administrative tasks to contribute to the firm’s legal processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Preparation: Assist attorneys in gathering and organizing information for complaints and interrogatories.
• Deposition Coordination: Prepare and manage deposition notices, schedule depositions, and coordinate with court reporting services and counsel.
• Client Relations: Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and assisting with case-related matters.
• Estate Support: Assist with estate-related processes, including coordinating documentation and maintaining follow-ups.
• Administrative Assistance: Provide ongoing administrative and legal support to attorneys and assist with additional projects as assigned.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and clients; proficient in learning and utilizing legal software effectively.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, time management with a proven track record of meeting deadlines, high organization and attention to detail, and analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Bonus: Familiarity with legal terminology, principles, research methodologies, and court procedures.
