Entertainment Litigation Assistant | Career Group
The Tone:
This is a full-time, non-exempt role at an entertainment law firm, located in Beverly Hills, CA. This firm is seeking a skilled Legal Assistant to provide crucial litigation and administrative support to its legal team. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of the firm’s litigation practice by managing documents, coordinating court filings, and assisting with various legal and administrative tasks in a demanding environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Management: Prepare, organize, and create complex legal documents and forms, including tables of contents, tables of authorities, exhibits, and binders.
• Court Procedures: Assist with and prepare electronic court filings, demonstrating knowledge of state and federal court requirements and rules.
• Calendar & Case Management: Determine and enter docket and calendar dates from court documents into the firm’s calendaring software, and assist with opening new matters and conflict checks.
• Administrative & Financial Support: Manage attorneys’ calendars, handle communications, process mail, update contacts, and work with Accounting on expense reports and monthly billing.
• Trial & Hearing Assistance: Support attorneys and paralegals in preparing for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including document assembly and coordination.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or equivalent required, with a preference for a Bachelor’s degree. Requires 5+ years of litigation experience specifically within a medium- to large-sized law firm.
• Experience: Demonstrated strong knowledge of California and Federal court procedures and rules. Proven experience with electronic calendaring and a preference for trial experience.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), superior proofreading, editing, and redlining skills, and highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
• Bonus: Experience with docketing software such as Compulaw or Milana preferred.
