Litigation Legal Assistant | Schwabe

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Preparation: Provide high-quality legal administrative support by meticulously editing, formatting, and proofreading documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with all court rules and firm standards.
• Legal Document Production: Prepare, revise, and finalize all shell legal documents, such as pleadings, briefs, and correspondence, maintaining exceptional attention to detail and strict adherence to deadlines.
• Electronic Filing Management: Facilitate the electronic filing of documents in Oregon and Washington state, federal, and appellate courts, ensuring full conformity with each jurisdiction’s local rules across the United States.
• Calendar and Deadline Tracking: Manage comprehensive calendaring for client meetings, litigation and appellate deadlines, court appearances, filing dates, client-specific deadlines, and internal tracking milestones.
• Billing Support: Proofread, finalize, and submit attorney time entries to ensure accuracy, full compliance with billing guidelines, and the timely generation of client invoices.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An experienced professional with demonstrable experience supporting litigation matters.
• Experience: At least 5 years of related legal experience, including proven expertise with e-filing in Oregon and Washington state, federal, and appellate courts.
• Skills: Exceptional organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; strong ability to manage tasks efficiently and meet tight deadlines; excellent oral and written communication; self-motivation and ability to work independently.
• Bonus: An associate’s degree.
