As a Legal Assistant, you will provide essential support to the legal collections operation, contributing to the firm’s efficient service delivery and client satisfaction.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Processing: Prepare and process legal documents, letters, and forms from dictation or written formats, including summons, subpoenas, complaints, appeals, motions, warrants, and agreements.
• Correspondence Handling: Proofread, mail, fax, and arrange for delivery or pickup of legal correspondence to clients, witnesses, and court officials.
• E-filing Management: Prepare e-file documents to meet court requirements, confirm specific fees needed, and follow up to confirm court acceptance.
• Document Notarization: Notarize legal documents as part of daily responsibilities.
• File Status Monitoring: Examine the status of files, daily reviews, releases, incoming mail, and court dockets to determine the next course of action, updating records accordingly in file management software.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level role requiring a high school diploma or GED with a focus on general legal support and administrative duties.
• Experience: Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required for document and data management.
• Skills: Solid written and verbal communication skills, a detail-oriented and organized approach to tasks, the ability to handle high work volume efficiently, and capability to multi-task upon request.
• Bonus: Paralegal certification and/or prior law firm experience are preferred qualifications for this position.
