Legal Assistant | Woods Rogers

The Tone:
This is a full-time, non-exempt role at Woods Rogers, located in our Tysons office in Virginia. Woods Rogers is a Virginia-based law firm that brings together more than 135 attorneys who collaborate across disciplines to deliver business-focused legal advice. This role is crucial for providing essential administrative and secretarial support to our attorneys, helping to ensure the smooth operation of daily activities. By efficiently managing legal documentation and client interactions, this position directly contributes to our firm’s mission of redefining the legal experience for clients through uncommon service and solutions.

• Pay: $66560–$87360 annually
• Mission: To provide essential secretarial and administrative support to attorneys, ensuring efficient operations, accurate documentation, and effective client communication.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Timekeeping System

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide secretarial support: Offer day-to-day administrative assistance to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, managing phone calls, and greeting clients and visitors.
• Manage legal documents: Produce, review, and dispatch legal documents and reports accurately and promptly.
• Handle financial tasks: Complete all billing and invoicing responsibilities in a timely manner, including entering billable time into the timekeeping system.
• Navigate compliance: Utilize government and court websites to understand and adhere to requirements for legal filings and procedures.
• Process case files: File case documents meticulously and execute file closures as necessary.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career professional with a minimum of one year of experience operating as a Legal Assistant.
• Experience: At least one year of experience supporting legal professionals, with a preference for experience in intellectual property and/or litigation.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication for effective interaction, exceptional organizational abilities with keen attention to detail, a high degree of discretion and confidentiality, and proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Outlook.
• Bonus: Demonstrated capacity to quickly learn new skills and adapt to evolving processes and procedures.
