Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP is a full-service civil litigation defense firm and business partner to the insurance industry. This role is crucial for supporting attorneys in managing case files and ensuring the smooth operation of the law office. The Legal Assistant directly contributes to the efficiency of the legal team and the overall success of the practice by handling core litigation and administrative tasks.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Preparation: Prepare, review, and finalize legal documents such as answers, pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with filing and service procedures.
• Case Management: Manage case files and maintain accurate calendars for assigned caseloads, including organizing electronic files and updating attorney case lists.
• Electronic Filing: Execute electronic filings and service of documents in State and Federal Courts.
• Communication & Coordination: Coordinate communication with clients, support services, opposing law firms, and courts.
• Litigation Support: Assist with document productions, redactions, preparation of witness/exhibit lists, trial binders, and retention of expert witnesses.
The Must-Haves
• Background: 2+ years’ prior legal assistant experience in a law office; strong knowledge and understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
• Experience: 2+ years in a legal assistant role; proficiency with electronic filings in State and Federal Courts.
• Skills: Highly proficient in typing with excellent grammatical accuracy; exceptional verbal and written communication; meticulous attention to accuracy, formatting, and compliance with filing and service procedures.
• Bonus: Experience in insurance defense litigation.
