Legal Assistant- Evictions | Diaz Anselmo & Associates P.A.

The Tone:
This is an in-person Legal Assistant role within the Evictions department at Diaz Anselmo & Associates P.A., a legal firm dedicated to providing comprehensive services in residential eviction matters. The firm handles a range of cases including post-foreclosure, REO, and landlord-tenant disputes. This position is vital for supporting attorneys by meticulously managing case workflows, drafting and filing critical legal documentation, and ensuring the smooth and timely progression of all eviction proceedings. The successful candidate will play a key part in upholding the firm’s commitment to delivering high-quality legal services through their organizational prowess and effective communication.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Document Preparation: Prepare, thoroughly review, and accurately file a variety of eviction-related legal documents, including complaints, motions, notices, and affidavits, ensuring compliance with all necessary court procedures.
• Case File Management: Efficiently manage all case files, promptly updating critical information within both firm-specific and client systems to ensure the seamless and timely progression of each case from initiation to resolution.
• Activity Coordination & Scheduling: Coordinate essential case-related activities such as hearings, court dates, and lockouts, proactively managing schedules and communicating with all involved parties to prevent delays.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clear and effective communication with courts, clients, property managers, sheriffs, vendors, and internal departments regarding critical case status updates and upcoming deadlines.
• Attorney Hearing Support: Provide comprehensive support to attorneys by assisting with all aspects of hearing preparation, including organizing necessary case documentation and ensuring attorneys are fully equipped.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires 2–4 years of Legal Assistant or Paralegal experience, with a strong knowledge of legal document preparation and court filing procedures.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience with case management systems such as Perfect Practice, ICE, Tempo, ADR, or similar platforms is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is also required.
• Skills: Exceptional organizational, communication, and time-management skills; strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines; and a self-motivated approach to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Bonus: Prior experience in evictions, foreclosure, creditor rights, real estate, or civil litigation is highly preferred.
