What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Management: Manage and track a high volume of employment single action cases, proactively ensuring all deadlines and court dates are accurately calendared and met.
• Document Preparation: Draft, finalize, and assemble a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, complaints, and notices, for filing in both state and federal courts.
• Discovery Management: Propound and respond to all phases of discovery requests, ensuring comprehensive and timely compliance.
• Client and Counsel Communication: Serve as a professional point of contact, communicating case status and other critical information to clients, experts, courts, and defense counsel.
• Litigation Support: Provide essential support to attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, meticulously maintaining organized and accessible case files within a paperless environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: At least three years of experience as a Legal Assistant focused on employment litigation, demonstrating a strong working knowledge of employment law, including FEHA, and state and federal court filing procedures.
• Experience: Proven capability in managing and tracking high-volume caseloads, strong knowledge of e-Filing and California rules, comfortable working in a paperless environment, and a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
• Skills: Exceptional ability to draft, edit, and finalize complex pleadings, motions, and other legal documents; strong written and verbal communication skills for professional interaction; meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills; and the capacity to act both independently and effectively within a team-based environment.
• Bonus: Trial preparation experience is helpful for this role.
