This is an in-person role at a national law firm specializing in the nonbank private lending industry. The firm’s expertise covers areas such as foreclosures, loss mitigation, and loan closings. This role is crucial for providing comprehensive legal support to attorneys across both corporate and litigation matters, ensuring efficient workflow and accurate document management within the firm’s operations. What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research to support attorneys on both corporate and litigation matters.
• Document Drafting: Draft, review, and edit a variety of legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, correspondence, and discovery materials.
• Document Management: Assist with document organization, version control, file management, and perform redlining/blacklining tasks.
• Case Support: Support attorneys with case management, court filings, discovery processes, and tracking litigation deadlines.
• Technology Utilization: Utilize legal technology and AI tools to enhance research capabilities and improve workflow efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree required; understanding of legal processes within a law firm or legal environment.
• Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a law firm or legal setting, with familiarity in legal research, drafting, and document review; experience supporting corporate matters or civil litigation is preferred.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Bonus: Experience with corporate governance, entity formation, or transactional matters; experience supporting civil litigation including discovery and court filings; bankruptcy and/or foreclosure experience; interest in or exposure to AI tools and legal technology.
