What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Preparation: Prepare and organize legal documents, including drafting, formatting, proofreading, and organizing pleadings, motions, agreements, and client correspondence.
• Case Management Support: Maintain comprehensive case files, both digital and physical, and coordinate all necessary court filings.
• Scheduling and Coordination: Manage calendars, schedule client meetings, and coordinate court appearances for attorneys.
• Communication Handling: Handle phone calls, emails, and correspondence with clients, court staff, and various external parties.
• Information and Data Management: Gather and organize case-related information, assist with client intake and documentation, and ensure accurate data entry into firm systems.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professionals with a strong foundation in law and legal procedures, capable of understanding and supporting matters in family law, criminal defense, business law, and estate planning. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience: Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar legal support role, with familiarity using legal practice management and document management software.
• Skills: Proficiency in legal document preparation, including drafting, formatting, proofreading, and organizing; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities; ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
• Bonus: An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field or a paralegal/legal assistant certificate is preferred.
