What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Coordination: Coordinate cases by managing calendars, organizing email correspondence, and tracking important legal deadlines.
• Document Preparation: Prepare and proofread legal filings, forms, subpoenas, and court documents for multiple courts.
• Legal Research: Conduct legal research to gather information, review evidence, and support attorneys in statutory appeals and case preparation.
• Record Management: Manage records by creating, updating, and maintaining case files, tracking systems, and closed records for legal matters.
• Court Support: Provide court support by assembling exhibits, preparing files for hearings, and communicating with court personnel and witnesses.
• Office Operations: Handle general office operations including mail management, supply orders, payment processing, and assisting with basic legal inquiries.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an advanced legal support role requiring prior experience in legal clerical support.
• Experience: One year as a Legal Assistant 1 (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal Government title); OR Four years of responsible clerical, investigative, or enforcement work including one year of legal clerical support experience; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Skills: Advanced clerical support, accurate document preparation and proofreading, strong case organization, calendar management, legal research support, records management, and effective communication with court personnel and witnesses. Must also be able to handle sensitive and confidential information reliably.
