The firm maintains a busy and highly successful criminal defense practice across 16 offices, supporting over 130 attorneys. They specialize in handling criminal defense misdemeanors and felonies, with a particular focus on DWI cases. This position is vital for the firm’s operations, as it contributes directly to ensuring all clients receive the best possible service by supporting the legal team. What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact, assisting attorneys by addressing client questions and concerns through effective communication via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Facilitate smooth operations by acting as a crucial liaison, ensuring clear and timely communication between attorneys, clients, and other internal staff members.
• Case File Management: Accurately enter new client information into the case management system and meticulously maintain digital and physical client files to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Calendar and Schedule Coordination: Manage and execute heavy scheduling demands, coordinating appointments, court dates, and internal meetings to optimize attorney productivity.
• Administrative and Clerical Support: Provide comprehensive administrative assistance, including organizing and filing documents, serving as a backup phone operator, and performing other essential clerical duties as needed.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A foundational background as a Legal Assistant is a mandatory requirement for this role, demonstrating an understanding of legal office operations and client support within a law firm setting.
• Experience: Candidates must possess proven experience in a Legal Assistant capacity, which includes practical involvement in client communication, case file management, and intensive scheduling, preferably within a criminal defense context.
• Skills: Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential, enabling effective communication with a diverse client base and contributing to the collaborative environment of the firm.
