Detailed Job Description: Legal Assistant

Jacoby & Meyers offers multiple entry-level legal assistant positions across different departments. The specific department assignment depends on the applicant’s skills and qualifications. Core duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Client Interaction: Interviewing clients and providing updates on their case status.
Evidence Gathering: Collecting all necessary information, evidence, and documentation to support case building. This includes requesting police reports, medical records, and bills on behalf of clients.
Scheduling & Compliance: Strict adherence to scheduled appointments.
Data Entry: Utilizing the firm’s software (training provided) for new client data entry.
Document Management: Scanning and saving case documentation into the firm’s system.
Reporting: Generating daily/weekly reports summarizing task results.
