Legal Analyst I | WSFS Bank

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Document Processing: Process garnishments, writs of execution, child support levies, and liens accurately and timely, adhering to all applicable state and federal laws.
• Compliance and Risk Analysis: Research and analyze legal documents to determine their appropriateness, identify applicable accounts for garnishment, and evaluate and mitigate low to medium risk to the bank.
• Account Management: Freeze customer accounts as necessary, debit accounts to pay garnishments/levies when required, and charge the proper customer fees where applicable.
• Internal Legal Guidance: Answer legal-banking inquiries from branch Associates regarding various topics, including check endorsements, business documentation, estate documentation, court orders, and special account titling.
• Department Support: Monitor and respond to questions sent to the Legal Department email mailbox and hotline, and provide occasional general administrative support such as opening and distributing mail.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate/Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of one year of legal documents processing experience, preferably within the banking or financial services industry. A strong understanding of legal terminology is required.
• Experience: Minimum of one year of experience processing legal documents in a professional setting.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; excellent typing skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to operate effectively under pressure and make independent decisions.
• Bonus: Knowledge of bank records, bank products, and retrieval procedures.
