This is a full-time, hybrid role with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, specifically supporting the Department of Education’s Office of Chief Counsel. What You’ll Actually Do
• Complaint Review: Analyze allegations, gather facts, and determine whether submitted complaints meet required standards.
• Legal Research: Examine laws, policies, and regulations to support case preparation for attorneys.
• Case Preparation: Draft materials, organize case files, and assist attorneys with hearing documentation.
• Information Gathering: Contact schools and courts to obtain records and verify case details for investigations.
• System Management: Update tracking systems and ensure case information is accurate and complete.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires professional experience in legal research and analysis, with educational paths ranging from an Associate’s degree to a Juris Doctor.
• Experience: Candidates need either five years of legal research and analysis experience including three professional-level years with an Associate’s degree, OR three years of professional legal research and analysis experience with a Bachelor’s degree, OR a Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school, OR an equivalent combination including two years of professional legal research and analysis.
• Skills: Legal research, analytical review, information gathering, document organization, and meticulous attention to detail for sensitive matters.
