Learning and Development Specialist – Part Time

Location: Fargo, North Dakota

Internship Summary

The Learning and Development Specialist provides coordination, learning, and development of Sanford employees, students, and/or community members. The main responsibility is content delivery facilitating to a smaller group of individuals either in-person at one of our onsite computer labs, or a larger group virtually from our onsite office.

Responsibilities

• Customizes curriculum and develops training materials to ensure that organizational and stakeholder needs are met.
• Delivers training with a focus that utilizes adult learning principles and training methods.
• Maintains and updates existing training and education programs.
• Performs quality checks to ensure satisfactory course functionalities and objectives are met.
• Provides training in a variation of needs, including but not limited to: behind the scenes build and design, software based training, classroom setting both virtually and in-person with direct facilitation, and/or orientation to small and large groups.
• Creates online learning modules and delivers webinar and classroom training based on department training needs and curriculum.
• Works closely with remote subject matter experts regarding the design, build, and maintenance of training content needs.
• Develops strong working relationships, manages projects, facilitates change processes, and effectively communicates to achieve organizational goals.

Currently pursuings

• Bachelor’s degree required. Field of study preference based on department training focus and specialties.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare environment providing education/training, including the use of automated software applications.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and training methods.
• Strong people skills with an understanding of service excellence.
• Strong communication skills including verbal, non-verbal, and written.
• Comfortable training technology and troubleshooting minor issues.
• Familiarity of distance learning tools (including: Zoom, WebEx, and MS Teams).
• Ability to work as a team and individually.
