Leadership Development Program | A. Duie Pyle, Inc.

The Tone:
This is an accelerated, in-person program designed to develop future leaders within A. Duie Pyle, Inc. The company has been the Northeast’s premier transportation and logistics provider since 1924, known for its “Service First” mentality. This program is critical to cultivating the next generation of Pyle leaders who will uphold and advance the company’s commitment to customers and employees. Participants will gain a deep understanding of the transportation industry and A. Duie Pyle’s operations.

The TL;DR

• Type: Full-time
• Location: In-person, various Pyle network locations (initial placement near home)
• Mission: Prepare individuals to become future leaders by developing a comprehensive understanding of A. Duie Pyle’s operations and the transportation industry.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Acquire operational expertise: Learn about freight handling, LTL business, operations (day and night shifts), project implementation, brokerage, and finance across the business.
• Gain practical experience: Work various shifts on the dock and ride along in trucks to build hands-on understanding of daily operations.
• Develop leadership capabilities: Shadow Pyle leaders and engage with senior leadership to cultivate essential management and decision-making skills.
• Build industry knowledge: Participate in classroom learning and perform different positions to gain a strong understanding of the transportation industry and company processes.
• Foster team understanding: Learn how individual team members and roles collectively impact the overall operation and company success.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level; High School Diploma or GED required, with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree (any major) preferred.
• Experience: Prior work experience, including part-time, internships, or co-ops; experience in supply chain, logistics, or transportation fields is preferred.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to manage work effectively in a deadline-oriented environment.
• Bonus: Willingness to relocate within the Pyle network upon program completion, positive and proactive attitude.
