The Opportunity

As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and deploying robust and scalable machine learning infrastructure. You will work on complex challenges ranging from data ingestion and feature engineering pipelines to model training, deployment, and monitoring systems. Key Responsibilities

• Architect and develop highly scalable, reliable, and performant machine learning platforms and services using cloud-native technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Design and implement robust data pipelines for feature engineering, data transformation, and model training, ensuring data quality and availability.
• Lead the development of MLOps best practices, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) for ML models, automated testing, and model versioning.
• Drive the selection and integration of appropriate ML frameworks, tools, and technologies (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Kubeflow, MLflow).
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, product managers, and other engineering teams to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver impactful solutions.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, and innovation within the team.
• Evaluate and prototype new machine learning techniques and technologies to enhance platform capabilities and push the boundaries of our AI offerings.
• Ensure the scalability, security, and maintainability of the ML platform, adhering to industry best practices and compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of professional experience in software development, with at least 3+ years specifically focused on Machine Learning Engineering or MLOps.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with relevant ML libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
• Proven experience designing and building scalable data and ML pipelines using tools like Spark, Flink, Kafka, Airflow, or Kubeflow.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including services related to compute, storage, databases, and managed ML services.
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, including design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and defensive programming.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing ML workloads.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in a related field.
• Experience with distributed ML training frameworks and techniques.
• Familiarity with experimentation platforms and A/B testing methodologies for ML models.
• Contributions to open-source ML projects or relevant publications.
• Experience with real-time ML inference systems and low-latency serving.
• Prior experience leading technical projects or mentoring engineers.
