Job Description:

This is a full-time, on-site position located at Amendola Air Base, Italy. It involves acting as the technical interface between Lockheed Martin’s Aeronautics Field Sustainment team and the on-site customer (both operations and maintenance) for all matters related to the F-35 aircraft. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving issues arising from maintenance or modification activities.

The role can be divided into two areas:

Manager Responsibilities:

• Manage Field Support Engineers (FSE) and assigned personnel at the base.
• Provide on-site support as requested by the customer, site manager, and program management.
• Ensure compliance with technical direction and contractual requirements.
• Ensure all support is provided in-line with Service Airworthiness Guidance and F-35 program technical data.
• Oversee compliance with the F-35 export workflow and associated export licenses.
• Manage employee selection/hiring, training, performance assessments, and customer relations.

Nose to Tail (NTT) FSE Responsibilities:

• Be a subject matter expert (SME) in Vehicle Systems/APG, with desired expertise in Avionics/Mission Systems (MS) and Supportable Low Observable (SLO)/Structures.
• Troubleshoot and analyze technical difficulties in the field.
• Attend debriefings to identify emerging issues and prevent downtime.
• Document unusual operational/maintenance problems.
• Initiate Action Requests (ARs) to resolve unique operational problems.
• Provide training to customer personnel.
• Collaborate with maintainers and engineers from other F-35 companies.
• Provide on-site support for aircraft ground maintenance and operational limitations.
• Lead and track multiple engineering efforts.
• Travel may be required to worldwide and hazardous duty locations.
• Must possess a Secret Security Clearance and be eligible for F-35 Special Program Access.
