Land Development Assistant | D.R. Horton
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at D.R. Horton. The company is the largest homebuilder in the U.S., founded in 1978 and publicly traded, specializing in high-quality homes for entry-level and first-time move-up markets, and also providing mortgage and title services. This position is vital to the Operations Department, where you will support the Land Development Manager in preparing raw land and installing the necessary infrastructure to enable the construction of new homes. Your contributions will directly impact the company’s ability to develop new communities and deliver homes to customers.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Management: Work on land development projects as delegated by the Land Manager.
• Scheduling: Develop and manage construction schedules for various projects.
• Coordination: Coordinate contractors and inspectors to ensure project completion.
• Documentation: Prepare and/or review critical documents, plats, and contracts related to land development.
• Financial Support: Perform accounts payable (A/P) duties for land development items and assist with budget tracking and various reports.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Six months to one year of related experience and/or training in land development, construction coordination, or an administrative capacity supporting operations.
• Skills: Project scheduling and coordination, document preparation and review, accounts payable processing, stakeholder liaison with municipalities and contractors, and basic budget tracking and reporting.
