Lab General Manager | Hoya Vision Care

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Hoya Vision Care, located in Lithia Springs, GA. Hoya Vision Care is a global organization dedicated to providing vision care products and solutions. This role is critical for leading and managing the Atlanta Lab’s operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, profitability, and continuous improvement in production and quality. The General Manager is responsible for building a cohesive team and driving performance across all lab functions.

• Team: Leads lab supervisor and group leads; reports to Regional Vice President.
• Mission: Leads and manages the Atlanta Lab’s overall operations, ensuring production, quality, safety, and financial goals are met through effective leadership and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Operations: Oversee all lab operations, including production process management, quality assurance, continuous improvement initiatives, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
• Manage Budget: Control the lab budget to meet profitability targets by carefully managing labor, material, and other operational costs.
• Develop Team: Provide leadership that fosters teamwork, empowers employees, and ensures continuous development through training and performance management.
• Ensure Quality: Review and analyze key operational reports, audits, and spoilage data to identify and resolve quality or production issues promptly.
• Drive Improvement: Champion continuous improvement efforts and influence organizational change to enhance efficiency and better meet evolving customer needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager-level professional with expertise in custom made-to-order manufacturing environments.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive management experience in a custom made-to-order manufacturing environment, 10 years of direct customer relationship experience, 5 years of managing exempt supervisory staff with excellent employee relations, and 5 years of direct P&L accountability.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability in problem-solving, quality management, business acumen, managing people effectively, and delegating work assignments.
• Bonus: Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
