K-5th Grade Remote Tutor (Part- or Full-Time)

About The Role
As a K-5th Grade Remote Tutor, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Leading dynamic tutoring sessions for elementary students (approximately 90% of workload).
- Sharing educational progress with students and families (approximately 5% of workload).
- Paid session planning and preparation (approximately 5% of workload).
In addition to direct tutoring, you will communicate with families about student progress and prepare for sessions. Revolution Prep also provides ongoing professional development opportunities, which are paid.
Compensation
- Instruction Time (Tutoring): $20 per hour.
- Prep and Training Time: Compensated at $10 per hour or your local minimum wage (whichever is higher).
The pay range for instruction time in this remote role is 20 USD per hour.
Work Structure & Schedule Requirements
Tutors are required to commit to the same hours of availability week-on-week, including weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends. Hours are based on availability and subject expertise; there is no competing for hours.
Part-Time Roles
Part-time tutors must post required availability for their delivery target during prime-time hours weekly. Availability must be posted in 4+hour chunks (unless otherwise noted) within the prime-time blocks listed below, and at least 8 hours must be posted on the weekend.
- Delivery Goal: 12+ hours per week
- Minimum Availability Requirement: 16+ hours per week
- Delivery Goal: 20+ hours per week
- Minimum Availability Requirement: 24+ hours per week
Part-Time Schedule – School Year (2nd Sunday of August to Saturday of June ACT)
- Monday – Thursday: 4 PM to 10 PM, Eastern Time
- Saturday: 9 AM to 6 PM, Eastern Time
- Sunday: 11 AM to 10 PM, Eastern Time
Part-Time Schedule – Summer (Sunday after June ACT to Saturday before 2nd Sunday of August)
- Monday – Thursday: 9 AM to 11 PM, Eastern Time
- Saturday: 9 AM to 7 PM, Eastern Time
- Sunday: 9 AM to 10 PM, Eastern Time
Full-Time Roles
Full-time tutors must post required availability for their delivery target during prime-time hours weekly.

- Total Staffable Availability Requirement: 38+ hours per week
- Primetime Staffable Availability Requirements: 35+ hours per week

Full-Time Schedule – School Year (2nd Sunday of August to Saturday of June ACT)
- Monday – Thursday: 3 PM to 11 PM, Eastern Time
- Friday: 3 PM to 7 PM, Eastern Time
- Saturday: 9 AM to 7 PM, Eastern Time
- Sunday: 9 AM to 10 PM, Eastern Time
Full-Time Schedule – Summer (Sunday after June ACT to Saturday before 2nd Sunday of August)
- Monday – Thursday: 9 AM to 11 PM, Eastern Time
- Friday: 9 AM to 7 PM, Eastern Time
- Saturday: 9 AM to 7 PM, Eastern Time
- Sunday: 9 AM to 10 PM, Eastern Time
Qualifications & Requirements
- Candidates must either:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from an accredited university, OR
- Have completed at least one full academic year as the lead teacher in a consistent elementary school classroom.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. and current residence required.
- Demonstrate the ability to support elementary math and ELA by earning a 90% or better on a timed assessment.
- The ability to commit to the same hours of availability week-on-week during weekday afternoons/evenings and at least 8 hours of weekends.
- Commit to a minimum of one year of employment.
Technical Requirements & Workspace
- Reliable high-speed internet with strong and reliable reception/service, provided through an ethernet connection, and a quiet, professional space are required.
- To be successful in the online Remote Tutor role, your computer must meet the minimum requirements:
- A Mac/PC desktop or laptop.
- Mac users: Mac OS X Snow Leopard (version 10.6) or later.
- PC users: Windows 8.1 or later.
- 4GB or more of available memory/RAM.
- A technology kit is provided if needed, which includes essentials like a webcam, headset, ring light, green screen, and an annotation tablet.

Time Off Policy
