K-5th Grade Remote Tutor (Part- or Full-Time)

As a K-5th Grade Remote Tutor with Revolution Prep, you will benefit from the stability of W-2 employment, complete with paid training, compensated preparation time, and the support of a collaborative team. This role offers meaningful work that provides both personal fulfillment and reliable income.
About The Role & Compensation
This role involves leading dynamic tutoring sessions for elementary students, communicating student progress with families, and preparing for sessions. Tutors are hired as W-2 employees.
- Lead dynamic tutoring sessions for elementary students: 90% of workload
- Share educational progress with students and families: 5% of workload
- Paid session planning and preparation: 5% of workload
Compensation Structure:
- $20 per hour for instruction time (tutoring)
- $10 per hour or your local minimum wage (whichever is higher) for prep and training time
Availability & Delivery Targets:
- Part-time: 12-hour delivery target with 16 hours of availability, or a 20-hour delivery target with 24 hours of availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Full-time: 30-hour delivery target with 38 hours of availability, or a 35-hour delivery target with 43 hours of availability, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Background: Candidates must either hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, specifically in Elementary Education, or have completed at least one full academic year as the lead teacher in a consistent elementary school classroom.
- Authorization: Authorization to work in the U.S. and current residence are required.
- Subject Proficiency: Demonstrate the ability to support elementary math and ELA by earning a 90% or better on a timed assessment.
- Work Environment: Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, professional workspace are essential.
- Commitment: The ability to commit to the same hours of availability week-on-week, specifically during weekday afternoons/evenings and at least 8 hours on weekends. A minimum commitment of one year of employment is required.

Schedule Requirements
Tutors are required to post their availability for their delivery target during prime-time hours weekly, maintaining the same hours every week. Time-off requests must be submitted at least 4 weeks in advance, with systems in place for emergency coverage.
Part-Time Schedule
Part-time tutors are required to post availability in 4+hour chunks (unless otherwise noted) within the primetime blocks listed below, and must post at least 8 hours on the weekend.
Delivery Goal & Minimum Availability Requirement:
- 12+ hours per week delivery goal requires 16+ hours per week minimum availability.
- 20+ hours per week delivery goal requires 24+ hours per week minimum availability.
Prime-Time Availability Blocks:
School Year (2nd Sunday of August to Saturday of June ACT)
- Monday – Thursday: 4 PM to 10 PM, Eastern Time
- Saturday: 9 AM to 6 PM, Eastern Time
- Sunday: 11 AM to 10 PM, Eastern Time
Summer (Sunday after June ACT to Saturday before 2nd Sunday of August)
- Monday – Thursday: 9 AM to 11 PM, Eastern Time
- Saturday: 9 AM to 7 PM, Eastern Time
- Sunday: 9 AM to 10 PM, Eastern Time
Full-Time Schedule
Delivery Goal, Total Staffable Availability, & Primetime Staffable Availability Requirements:
- 30+ hours per week delivery goal requires 38+ hours per week total staffable availability and 35+ hours per week primetime staffable availability.
- 35+ hours per week delivery goal requires 43+ hours per week total staffable availability and 38+ hours per week primetime staffable availability.
Prime-Time Availability Blocks:
School Year (2nd Sunday of August to Saturday of June ACT)
- Monday – Thursday: 3 PM to 11 PM, Eastern Time
- Friday: 3 PM to 7 PM, Eastern Time
- Saturday: 9 AM to 7 PM, Eastern Time
- Sunday: 9 AM to 10 PM, Eastern Time
Summer (Sunday after June ACT to Saturday before 2nd Sunday of August)
- Monday – Thursday: 9 AM to 11 PM, Eastern Time
- Friday: 9 AM to 7 PM, Eastern Time
- Saturday: 9 AM to 7 PM, Eastern Time
- Sunday: 9 AM to 10 PM, Eastern Time
Technical Requirements
To be successful in the online Remote Tutor role, your computer must meet the minimum requirements listed below:
- A Mac/PC desktop or laptop.
- Mac users: Mac OS X Snow Leopard (version 10.6) or later.
- PC users: Windows 8.1 or later.
- High-speed internet with strong and reliable reception/service, provided through an ethernet connection.
- 4GB or more of available memory/RAM.
- Technology Kit: A technology kit is provided if needed, which includes essentials like a webcam, headset, ring light, green screen, and annotation tablet.
