Job Title: Junior Systems Administrator

Location: Norman, OK (Hybrid – some days at home, some days in the Norman office)

Job Summary

The Junior System Administrator is responsible for implementing and maintaining the company’s IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves close collaboration with other IT professionals to support business operations, troubleshoot system issues, and develop innovative solutions to enhance the organization’s technological capabilities. The Junior System Administrator must report to PCI headquarters in Norman, OK for in-office days.

Responsibilities

  • Implement robust IT infrastructure solutions, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
  • Develop and deploy system configurations and software updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals and stakeholders to gather requirements and design system architecture that meets business needs.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Perform regular system maintenance tasks, such as backups, patch management, and system upgrades.
  • Respond to and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner, providing expert-level support to end-users.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect the organization’s data and IT infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory frameworks, such as SOC 1/SOC 2 and FISMA requirements.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and project progress.
  • Provide training and support to IT staff and end-users on system functionalities and best practices.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar role, with a strong background in managing IT infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), network administration, and virtualization technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, AWS Associate Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, CompTIA A+) are highly desirable.
  • Must have flexible availability to participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation and support after‑hours system maintenance as required.
