Junior Software Asset Management | Verizon

The Tone:
This is a full-time, hybrid role at Verizon, located in any US based Verizon hub location. Verizon is a global telecommunications company that powers how people live, work, and play by connecting them to what brings them joy. As a Junior Software Asset Management professional, you will support the day-to-day administration, tracking, and optimization of Verizon’s software estate. Your work will directly contribute to identifying significant cost-saving opportunities and driving operational efficiency across the organization.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Flexera Data Maintenance: Administer Flexera by importing licensing entitlements, updating software inventories, and ensuring data integrity within the platform.
• Procurement Support: Assist Senior SAM and Global Procurement teams in preparing for contract renewals with large publishers by gathering usage statistics and deployment data.
• Audit Defense Assistance: Support the audit mitigation process by collecting required deployment data, organizing proof-of-purchase records, and maintaining audit documentation.
• Business Unit Engagement: Follow up with various business entities and technical teams to ensure they execute assigned optimization tasks, such as reclaiming unused software or reallocating licenses.
• Reporting & Analysis: Generate routine software compliance and optimization reports to identify variances between installations and purchased entitlements, highlighting potential financial risks or savings.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or one or more years of relevant experience, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
• Experience: One or more years with software and infrastructure, and experience in procurement or asset management.
• Skills: Data analysis, critical thinking, problem-solving, strong quantitative skills, and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Experience in software contracts and licensing metrics, coordinating with cross-functional teams (legal, sourcing, business units), reading and interpreting legal documents, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
