Junior Paralegal, Contracts | Carta
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Carta, hiring in Hamilton, NJ, Seattle, WA, and Sandy, UT. Carta connects founders, investors, and limited partners through world-class software and services purpose-built for everyone in venture capital, private equity, and private credit. This role is crucial for supporting Carta Law, an AI-native law firm for private capital, by delivering high-volume legal work with speed and consistency that traditional firms simply can’t match. You will contribute to shaping the future of private market infrastructure by assisting in core legal operations.

• Team: North America Contracts team (US and Canada) within Carta Law.
• Mission: Support legal work for private capital, contributing to high-quality client delivery in fast-moving, high-volume contract matters.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Assist lawyers with first-round markups of investment-related NDAs and commercial contracts.
• Manage: Oversee document lifecycles, track deadlines, communicate with counterparties, and aid in execution.
• Collaborate: Work closely with lawyers and senior paralegals to deliver high-quality client service across fast-moving, high-volume matters.
• Develop: Build commercial and legal expertise over time, with opportunities for client account ownership and progression towards qualification via the SQE route.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience: Eagerness to learn and grow, motivated and curious to develop expertise in legal practice, whether in compliance, contracts, or funds.
• Skills: Organized and efficient, prioritizing well and managing competing deadlines with attention to detail. A strong communicator, able to write and speak clearly and professionally, delivering crisp, concise advice. A self-starter who takes initiative, works independently when needed, and proactively flags issues. A team player who collaborates effectively with lawyers, senior paralegals, and client-facing teams.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to NDAs or KYC processes.
